On October 1, 2025, banks will remain closed in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Odisha, Assam, Sikkim, West Bengal, Kerala, Bihar, Jharkhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Nagaland, and Uttar Pradesh on the occassion of Dussehra, Ayudha Pooja (Maha Navami/Vijayadashami), and Durga Puja (Dasain).
On October 2, 2025, banks across all Indian states and union territories will remain closed for Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti, as it is observed as a national holiday.
Banks in Sikkim will remain closed on October 3–4, 2025, for Durga Puja (Dasain) celebrations. On October 6, 2025, Tripura and West Bengal banks will be closed for Lakshmi Puja.
Banks in Karnataka, Odisha, Chandigarh, and Himachal Pradesh will remain closed on October 7, 2025, to celebrate Maharshi Valmiki Jayanti and Kumar Purnima. Himachal Pradesh banks will also close on October 10 for Karva Chauth. On October 18, 2025, banks in Assam will be closed for Kati Bihu.
On October 20, 2025, banks will remain closed in Tripura, Gujarat, Mizoram, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Chandigarh, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Assam, Telangana, Arunachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Nagaland, West Bengal, Delhi, Goa, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Meghalaya, Himachal Pradesh, and Andhra Pradesh for Diwali, Naraka Chaturdashi, and Kali Puja.
On October 22, 2025, banks in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Sikkim, Manipur, Jammu, and Srinagar will remain closed for Diwali Amavasya (Laxmi Pujan), Deepawali, and Govardhan Pooja. Additionally, banks in Gujarat, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar will close for Diwali, Vikram Samvant New Year, Balipadyami, and Laxmi Puja.
On October 23, 2025, banks in Gujarat, Sikkim, Manipur, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and Himachal Pradesh will remain closed for Bhaidooj, Chitragupt Jayanti, Laxmi Puja Bhratridwitiya, and Ningol Chakkouba. On October 27, banks in West Bengal, Bihar, and Jharkhand will close for Chath Puja (Evening Puja).
On October 28, 2025, banks in Bihar and Jharkhand will remain closed for Chath Puja (Morning Puja). Later, on October 31, banks in Gujarat will be closed to commemorate Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's birthday, while digital banking services remain available.
