Anant Ambani, the youngest son of Mukesh and Nita Ambani, has battled serious health challenges since childhood, including asthma and obesity. Despite undergoing a remarkable weight loss transformation, he later regained the weight, which led to widespread attention and criticism on social media.
Anant shared that during his toughest phase, it wasn’t his parents or siblings who stood by him, but his wife Radhika. She supported him like a rock, even when doctors gave up, and had more faith in his recovery than he did.
Anant completed his schooling at the Dhirubhai Ambani International School in Mumbai, founded by his family, where he developed a strong foundation in academics and a keen interest in business and leadership. He later pursued a bachelor's degree in Business Management at Brown University in the USA.
Anant took on the role of Executive Director at Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) on May 1, 2025. His appointment marks a key move in the company’s future leadership, with a focus on driving growth in new energy, digital services, and consumer businesses.
Anant Ambani is the first among his siblings to be appointed as Executive Director of RIL. Akash Ambani, Chairman of Jio and Isha Ambani, leading Reliance Retail business, continue their roles in the conglomerate.
Anant serves on the boards of several Reliance group companies, including Jio Platforms (since March 2020), Reliance Foundation since September 2022, and Reliance New Energy and Reliance New Solar Energy (since June 2021).
Beyond his corporate responsibilities, Anant is deeply passionate about animal welfare. He supports various initiatives aimed at the rescue, rehabilitation and care of vulnerable animals, he is also the member of the philanthropic organisation - Reliance foundation since September 2022.
According to Economic Times, Anant current net worth is around Rs 3 lakh crore, making him the richest young heirs in the world. His new leadership role at Reliance Industries is set to further cement his financial legacy
