The Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) was launched by the Government of India on September 23, 2018. Managed by the National Health Authority (NHA), the scheme offers cashless healthcare for secondary and tertiary treatments at public and empanelled private hospitals nationwide.
The Indian government introduces a special health cover for citizens aged 70+, offering Rs 5 lakh in free treatment under Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY.
All Indian residents aged 70 or above, regardless of income are eligible. Aadhaar-based e-KYC is mandatory for enrollment.
Beneficiaries receive Rs 5 lakh annually for treatments in empanelled public and private hospitals, covering a wide range of medical services.
Download the Ayushman App, log in, complete e-KYC with Aadhaar and submit necessary details to obtain the Ayushman Vay Vandana Card.
Once enrolled, beneficiaries can access medical services without any waiting period, ensuring prompt treatment when needed.
If multiple family members are aged 70+, each must enroll separately. However, the Rs 5 lakh coverage is a shared family floater sum.
Only Aadhaar is needed for enrollment. Ensure the Aadhaar details are up-to-date to facilitate a smooth registration process.
Assistance is available at Common Service Centers (CSCs) and Ayushman Mitra helpdesks in hospitals for those needing support with enrollment.
