Indian stock markets, including National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), will remain closed on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, for Ganesh Chaturthi. There will be no trading or settlements in stocks, derivatives or securities lending and borrowing segments on this day.
Ganesh Chaturthi is primarily observed in Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, Pune, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh as a public holiday. On this day, stock markets, banks, and schools in these states remain closed.
Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) will remain closed for trading from 9 AM to 5 PM on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. Evening trading will resume from 5 PM to 11:55 PM, with selected agri commodities closing at 9 PM. The National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX) will remain fully closed.
Indian stock markets operate Monday to Friday from 9:15 AM to 3:30 PM, with a pre-open session from 9:00 AM to 9:15 AM. Markets remain closed on Saturdays and Sundays, apart from scheduled holidays like Ganesh Chaturthi.
