Starlink Wi-Fi Coming to Singapore Airlines Fleet — Here’s What Flyers Can Expect

Singapore Airlines on Monday announced it will roll out next-generation in-flight internet powered by Starlink from early 2027, aiming to significantly improve onboard connectivity for passengers across its network.

When Rollout Starts?

The airline said it will begin installing the new system in the first quarter of 2027, as per The Economic Times, following a phased rollout to gradually integrate the technology across aircraft while maintaining consistent service quality during the transition period.

Aircraft Covered Routes

The airlines said the upgrade will include its Airbus A350-900 long-haul and ultra-long-range aircraft along with its A380 fleet, ensuring improved internet connectivity across major international routes operated by the airline.

The airline expects the Starlink-powered connectivity rollout to be completed by the end of 2029, reflecting a phased multi-year plan to upgrade internet systems across its wide-body fleet.

Starlink Technology

The service will rely on Starlink’s low Earth orbit satellite network, positioned closer to Earth than traditional systems, allowing faster speeds and more stable connections throughout long-haul and ultra-long-haul flights.

With access to over 10,000 satellites, the airline aims to deliver faster internet that supports streaming, social media, online gaming and large file transfers onboard, improving the overall passenger experience.

Complimentary WiFi Policy

The airline confirmed its unlimited complimentary Wi-Fi will continue on Starlink-enabled aircraft for Suites First Class and Business Class passengers, along with PPS Club and KrisFlyer members travelling in Premium Economy and Economy.
