Social media platform X, formerly Twitter, has introduced automatic post translation to boost accessibility. The feature lets users instantly read posts in different languages without needing manual translation.
The company has begun rolling out the feature globally as part of its wider effort to enhance user experience. It highlights X’s growing focus on using artificial intelligence (AI) to make the platform smoother and more accessible for users worldwide.
The translation feature runs on Grok, an artificial intelligence chatbot built by xAI. This integration helps deliver quick and accurate translations, aligning with the platform’s push to bring more AI-driven features directly into the app experience.
With the update, posts in unfamiliar languages automatically appear in the user’s preferred language while scrolling. This real-time translation removes extra steps, making it faster and more convenient for users to understand global content.
Earlier, users had to tap a translate option to view posts in another language. The new update removes this extra step, making the experience smoother and allowing users to engage with multilingual content more easily within their feeds.
Even with automatic translation, users remain in control of the feature. They can turn off translations for specific languages through settings on each post, allowing them to view content in its original language whenever they choose.
The feature supports multiple global and regional languages including English, Hindi, Arabic, Bengali, Chinese, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Urdu, Indonesian, Italian, Turkish, Russian, Thai and Vietnamese.
Alongside translation, X is also introducing new AI-powered tools such as a photo editor. This includes features like blur for privacy and natural language-based editing, further strengthening its focus on enhancing in-app functionality through artificial intelligence.
