US-based EV maker Tesla is inaugurating its first store in Delhi at the 8,200 sq. ft of prime retail space it has leased in Delhi’s Aerocity from Oak Infrastructure Ltd. The showroom is officially open from August 11, 2025.
Elon Musk’s Tesla entered the Indian retail market just last month with a store in Mumbai’s upscale Bandra Kurla Complex. The company is selling the China-made 'Model Y' in India, priced around ₹60 lakh after import duties.
Located in the Worldmark 3 complex at Aerocity, a prominent commercial area near Delhi airport, the site aligns well with Tesla’s premium positioning in India’s EV market.
According to real estate data analytics firm CRE Matrix, the deal involves a 9-year lease with a starting monthly rent of ₹17.22 lakh. The agreement also includes a 15% rent escalation every 36 months, reflecting the location’s high value. The lease was registered on July 30, 2025.
The Aerocity store will open today at 2 pm on Monday, August 11, and showcase Tesla’s Model Y, available in two India-specific variants: the Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) with a 60kWh battery and the Long Range RWD with a 75kWh battery.
The starting price for the (RWD) variant is ₹59.89 lakh, while the Long Range RWD is priced at ₹67.89 lakh, excluding showroom charges. For an additional ₹6 lakh, buyers can opt for Tesla’s Full Self-Driving feature. There are six colour options available, with Stealth Grey as the default, and customers can choose between black or white interiors in a comfortable five-seat setup that includes heated rear seats and ventilated front seats.
Alongside the Delhi lease, Tesla has also rented over 33,000 sq. ft at Gurugram’s Orchid Business Park. This location is expected to serve as both a service centre and a sales outlet.
In Gurugram, the chargeable area is 33,475 sq ft, while the total super-built-up area is 50,914 sq ft. The space has been leased from Garwal Property, with the deal registered on July 28.
By securing prime locations in Delhi and Gurugram shortly after its Mumbai debut, Tesla is signalling a serious push into India’s electric mobility market—building both its retail reach and after-sales network.
