Meta has launched a new AI-powered video editing feature, allowing users to instantly enhance short videos using preset AI prompts. The tool is free to use for now but limited to select regions like the US.
Meta’s new AI-powered video editing feature can be accessed through three platforms: Meta AI app, the official Meta AI website and Meta’s new Edits video editing app.
This feature is designed for anyone—even those without video editing experience. It's ideal for users who want to create fun videos for friends and family. Content creators can also use it to make their videos more engaging and visually appealing.
The feature includes over 50 preset prompts such as comic book effects, game-style lighting, dreamy rain, desert backgrounds and even outfit changes—allowing users to instantly stylize their clips with just one tap.
Users can currently edit only the first 10 seconds of any video they upload using the Meta AI video editing tool.
Meta built this feature on its MovieGen model, part of earlier research projects like Make-A-Scene and Llama. AI learns visuals and generates creative transformations.
Users can share their edited videos directly on WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook, or publish them to the Discover feed within the Meta AI platform itself.
Meta says its goal is to make high-quality video editing accessible to all—whether for casual users or content creators. This launch marks Meta’s first big consumer-facing step into AI-powered video editing, with more advanced features set to roll out soon.
