On Tuesday, Infosys Foundation launched a nationwide skilling programme to help 5 lakh job seekers secure meaningful employment by 2030. Over ₹200 crore has been committed for the first phase under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
"Infosys Foundation...today announced the launch of Infosys Springboard Livelihood Program to enable half a million job seekers in India to gain meaningful employment by 2030," the company said in a release.
The Foundation has committed over ₹200 crore for the first phase of its Springboard Livelihood Program with an aim to create jobs for graduate and undergraduate youth across STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and non-STEM sectors.
The programme will also offer industry-relevant courses via Infosys Springboard in cutting-edge technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, digital marketing, and finance to boost employability.
The programme also includes foundational modules on communication skills, time management and interview preparation—equipping learners and job seekers with critical workplace competencies for long-term success.
Infosys Foundation has partnered with nearly 20 organisations—including ICT Academy, Unnati, Nirmaan, Magic Bus, Aga Khan Rural Support Programme, Centum, CII Foundation, and NIIT Foundation—to curate job opportunities and build career pathways for youth.
“The big opportunity in our country is to focus on skilling initiatives to meet industry and AI-age demands, and then shape a path from learning to livelihood,” Sumit Virmani, Trustee, Infosys Foundation, said, adding that the Infosys Springboard Livelihood Program has been thoughtfully crafted to respond to this critical gap.
