Google plans to soon introduce a feature that alerts users when they are on a call, sharing their screen and have a financial transaction app open at the same time.
Google is testing this alert feature with Google Pay, Paytm and Navi. It informs users that the call may be unsafe and provides a fast option to stop screen sharing and disconnect without delay.
Google is also introducing a real-time scam detection tool for Pixel users. It identifies suspicious activity during calls without storing audio, generating transcripts or transmitting any call-related information to Google, keeping user privacy intact.
The tool activates only for calls from unknown numbers, stays turned off by default and plays a beep so all participants know it is active. Users have full control and can switch it off whenever they choose.
