Quick commerce firm Blinkit announced that it has added the Bharat Yatra national common mobility card (NCMC) to its platform, aiming to ease public transport payments for everyday urban travellers.
The Bharat Yatra card is currently available on Blinkit in the national capital region of Delhi, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai and Ahmedabad, enabling users in these cities to order the card directly.
Priced at ₹50, the Bharat Yatra card comes with zero know your customer requirements, helping commuters avoid multiple city-specific transport cards while keeping access to public transport simple and convenient.
Issued by Pine Labs and backed by RuPay, the Bharat Yatra card allows instant Unified Payments Interface top-ups and is built to function smoothly across public transport networks in multiple Indian cities.
After activation through the Bharat Yatra mobile application, the card carries a validity of five years and allows users to store up to ₹2,000 in its wallet.
The Bharat Yatra card can be used for metro travel in Delhi and the national capital region, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Ahmedabad and Kanpur, and for bus services in Mumbai, Chennai, Guwahati, Haryana, Jammu, Srinagar, Himachal Pradesh and Aurangabad.
Blinkit’s role is limited to distribution, helping make the Bharat Yatra mobility card easier to access, while the card remains available on other platforms, including the e-commerce site Flipkart.
