With Diwali around the corner, government-owned Alliance Air has unveiled its “Fare se Fursat” scheme, offering fixed airfares to ensure predictable, affordable, and stress-free travel on selected domestic routes.
Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu Kinjarapu launched the scheme on October 13, highlighting that passengers can now enjoy freedom from fluctuating airfares through a transparent and affordable pricing model.
The event was attended by key officials including Civil Aviation Secretary Samir Kumar Sinha, Alliance Air Chairman Amit Kumar and CEO Rajarshi Sen.
Under the new plan, Alliance Air will maintain a constant ticket fare for passengers, regardless of when they book, offering stability even for last-minute travel, as announced by the Press Information Bureau (PIB).
The fixed fare initiative will be implemented on a pilot basis till December 31, 2025, allowing the airline and authorities to assess passenger feedback and operational efficiency before wider rollout.
Meanwhile, Minister Rammohan Naidu said the scheme aligns with the government’s UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) vision, aiming to make air travel accessible for middle-class, lower-middle-class and neo-middle-class passengers.
Alliance Air has also introduced UDAN Yatri Cafes at airports, offering tea for ₹10, coffee for ₹20, and snacks for ₹20. The initiative focuses on affordability while emphasising passenger convenience and a people-friendly airport experience, said Rammohan Naidu.
Under UDAN, Alliance Air connects tier 2 and tier 3 cities via short and medium-route flights. The fixed fare system ensures stable pricing, especially benefiting last-minute travellers and promoting regional air travel.
