Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence company xAI has rolled out Grok Imagine 1.0, which the company describes as its most significant upgrade so far, as it looks to expand its presence in the fast-growing artificial intelligence video generation market.
xAI announced the rollout on Monday, pointing to strong usage growth. Elon Musk later reshared the post, confirming that Grok Imagine version 1.0 is now available in wide release to users.
The update lets users create videos lasting up to 10 seconds, extending earlier limits and offering creators more room to develop complete scenes and short-form visual narratives.
Grok Imagine 1.0 supports 720p resolution, improving visual clarity and smoother motion, which makes artificial intelligence–generated videos more practical for storytelling, social media sharing and creative use.
The new version adds improved sound features, including expressive character voices and background music that syncs naturally with visuals, making artificial intelligence–generated videos feel more immersive and cinematic.
xAI says Imagine 1.0 shows a major improvement in prompt handling, allowing it to follow detailed instructions and respond to follow-up prompts so users can refine scenes without starting over.
According to xAI, users generated about 1.245 billion videos in the past 30 days, indicating rapid adoption and strong engagement with the artificial intelligence video platform.
The application programming interface model performs strongly on Artificial Analysis benchmarks, the company added, which evaluate the quality and performance of artificial intelligence–generated content.
