Nvidia a global leader in the GPU that power AI, has signed an agreement with the Andhra Pradesh government to set up an Artificial Intelligence university in the state.
In the collaboration, the Andhra Pradesh government and NVIDIA will jointly work to train 10,000 engineering students across the state over the next two years, equipping them with essential AI skills and preparing them for future tech-driven opportunities.
NVIDIA will help identify essential tools, software platforms and hardware infrastructure to equip the upcoming AI university in Andhra Pradesh for delivering top-tier education and impactful research outcomes.
The Company will also assist in setting up AI research centres focused on solving critical tech challenges and creating transformative solutions across diverse sectors, strengthening India's AI capabilities.
"This partnership with NVIDIA marks a decisive step in our vision to position Andhra Pradesh as a national leader in Artificial Intelligence. By equipping 10,000 students with cutting-edge AI skills and supporting our startup ecosystem, we are laying the foundation for a future-ready economy driven by innovation, research, and entrepreneurship," said the state's IT Minister Nara Lokesh.
The agreement also includes knowledge sharing on AI Factories, with Nvidia contributing expertise from its global operations to help establish innovation and talent hubs.
The Andhra Pradesh government plans to help up to 500 AI-focused startups from the state to apply for the NVIDIA Inception Programme, supporting their growth through mentorship, resources, and global exposure.
