Parag Agrawal, former CEO of Twitter (now known as X), has unveiled 'Deep Research API', a new artificial intelligence (AI) tool aimed at outperforming ChatGPT and other top AI models.
The first goal of Deep Research API is to outperform both humans and top AI models, including GPT-5, on some of the toughest benchmarks in the industry, Agrawal said in a post on professional networking platform, LinkedIn.
Agrawal shared on LinkedIn that the tool is designed to exceed human-level accuracy while automating complex workflows, highlighting his start-up’s focus on combining efficiency, precision and scalability for research tasks across industries.
Agrawal said his Palo Alto, California-based AI start-up, Parallel Web Systems already handles millions of research tasks daily for start-ups and public enterprises. Companies are also using Parallel's tools to bring web intelligence directly into their platforms and agents, he added.
According to Agrawal, the start-up offers tools that automate tasks traditionally performed by humans, enabling businesses to conduct research faster and with greater accuracy.
Parag Agrawal is widely recognised for his tenure as Twitter CEO. He was appointed to the role in November 2021 after serving over four years as CTO and became known for his technical expertise and leadership in scaling global digital platforms. He was later fired by Elon Musk in October 2022 after Musk acquired the company.
Agrawal began his career as a researcher at Microsoft in 2006, where he returned after a stint at Yahoo. He later joined AT&T, and in October 2011, became a Distinguished Software Engineer at Twitter, laying the foundation for his rise to CTO and eventually CEO.
Agrawal studied at Atomic Energy Central School in India, earned a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science from IIT Bombay, and completed his PhD in Computer Science at Stanford University, combining academic excellence with industry experience.
Through Deep Research API, Parag Agrawal's start-up Parallel Web Systems, Inc., aims to redefine research and AI automation for companies by focusing on human-level accuracy and outperforming existing models.
