How is the tech and media landscape going to change in the coming years? Top business-strategist Michael Wolf of Activate has some answers. He has predicted that subscription will continue to be the dominant revenue model, accounting for over half of consumer internet and media growth. The target segment for most players will be users who spent more time and money consuming media. Pay-to-download models, too, is expected to disappear. But, more importantly, eSports, or competitive video gaming, is going to be the next big tech phenomenon. Over the next few years, in the US alone, eSports is expected to be a $1.5 billion business.
