Alakh Pandey-led PhysicsWallah, a Noida-based Indian edtech platform has appointed Umer Ahmad Ganie, a 19-year-old Kashmiri boy who scored 601 out of 720 in the NEET examination, as its brand ambassador and a mentor in the Kashmir region.

In addition to this, PhysicsWallah has offered Rs 10 lakh to cover his counselling fees and college expenses. The company has claimed that the entire sum will help him to eliminate the financial headwinds pursuing the MBBS degree. The company has also offered a job to Ganie’s sister, who played a pivotal role in his life.

According to sources, Pandey was deeply moved by Ganie’s success story. Coming from a financially poor background, he had to indulge in multiple jobs like picking apples or working at construction sites to help his family. However, neither of these challenges could divert him from his goal. He used the late-night hours to study and only slept for three hours a day for a decade.

After MBBS, Ganie wants to pursue UPSC and wants to serve the country as a civil servant. A press statement by PhysicsWallah has revealed that he draws his inspiration from multiple figures, who were earlier associated with the company.

Recently, PhysicsWallah invested Rs 500 crore in Xylem Learning to acquire a 50 per cent stake in the start-up. Through this move, the company aims to bolster its footprints in the southern part of the country.
