I love the classics and Shakespeare is one of my most favourite playwrights. DH Lawrence’s Sons and Lovers has kept me awake for several nights, but Love in the time of Cholera by Gabriel Márquez is a book that has taught me the most — about life and pain. Besides, poetry enamours me, especially the ones by Khalil Gibran and Keats.

I’m a complete movie buff and try to watch one movie everyday. While I don’t have set preferences, I like to watch movies that are based on true stories and narrate other people’s lives; for instance, The Bridge on the River Kwai. Martin Scorsese is one of the best filmmakers and I’ve watched Goodfellas and Taxi Driver countless times.

While I love to cycle in the mountains, I go cycling once a week for an hour even in the city. It’s absolutely fun to cycle for hours when I visit our farm in Denkanikottai in Tamil Nadu and Nandi Hills in Karnataka. Besides that, I enjoy watching tennis and there’s nothing better than watching Federer on the court.

My all-time comfort food is rajma chawal, but I also enjoy Mediterranean cuisine, especially hummus platter and pita bread at Toit Micro Brewery in Bengaluru’s Indira Nagar. One can surely find me there once every week.

A camel ride in the sand dunes of Jaisalmer is just magnificent, especially in the month of December. But, my ideal getaway destination abroad is New Zealand, where I can drive cars that I can’t on Indian roads and also enjoy many adventure sports. When I am working, there are so many things I have to worry about, but when I am bungee jumping, all I am worried about is my life.
