The most inspirational book for me has been the Bhagwad Gita. It is a book through which I derive the essence of life, see the good in everyone and seek the ability to de-stress. I also enjoyed reading My Experiments with Truth, the Sapiens series and A Brief History of Time. I like books that unravel the mysteries of time and space and delve into the spiritual or the scientific philosophies.

My all-time favourite Bollywood film is Sholay. I enjoy watching light comedies including as Singin’ In The Rain and Breakfast at Tiffany’s. In the thought-provoking genres, I like Interstellar, Inception, Matrix and Gravity.

I absolutely loved playing field hockey, a sport I picked up when I was eight. Even today, I don’t miss any of India’s live telecasts — irrespective of the fact that I am travelling a lot. It is the most scintillating 60 minutes of sheer stamina, strategy and teamwork at play.

I am a complete foodie and cannot pick a favourite cuisine. But amongst Indian food, I devour Maharashtrian and South Indian dishes with equal enthusiasm and chole bhature is also one of the top contenders. When it comes to global cuisines, I enjoy Mexican, Arabic and Italian food.

Nothing beats the pristine rivers flowing along the lush green Himalayan states of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The natural beauty in these regions is simply breathtaking and I have been trekking there for years. Abroad, I have visited Niagara Falls at least 50 times to experience all kinds of seasons. The sudden transition from a slow-moving river to a huge horse-shoe fall reminds you that life is unpredictable and we should be ready for any eventualities.
