The Tata Group has always been a step behind the leaders in the mobile telephony business. Some of it was due to reasons beyond our control, says Mukund Govind Rajan, Managing Director of Tata Teleservices Maharashtra, one of two group companies in this business. But the 41-year-old is confident the group’s new GSM play and the onset of number portability will help it gain ground on rivals. He tells Kunal N Talgeri why.
